HOA/BOARD MEMBERS RESEMBLE "ROYALTY"?

RiverLanding Home Owners!
I have been on the Board of Directors since January 15, 2010.  I knew that I would
NOT be able to actually make much of a change by myself as I would always be out-voted.
But I resigned myself to at least act as a "Reporter", relaying what I witness at
our very lame HOA meetings
to you,

Follows Are My Recent Observations....

Our last HOA Meeting was May 13, 2010, at the Heritage Park Senior Center, and the
initial topic was about a Pool Card being "turned off".  It was a Pool Card that
 was issued to a HomeOwner, who owns two homes, both of which are occupied by Renters.
 It seems the people in question used their Pool Card to host a party at Our Pool?
 The surveillance cameras saw them propping the Pool Gate open, allowing about 40
People into Our Pool!  According to Our Pool Rules?  You are allowed to have only
2 Guests!  And on top of that?  They also brought in a BarBQue, lighting it and 
cooking!  And after cooking?  They dumped their Hot Coals inside our Pool Area! 
 Now this particular Home Owner was in attendance at our Meeting, wanting to make
sure this particular Pool Card was indeed turned back on!  And I noticed how "defensive"
he was acting?  Talking about the Ethnicity of his Renters?  In my opinion?  I would
not care if his renters were from the Planet Mars or were purple?  Anyone BREAKING
OUR POOL RULES will have his Pool Card turned off!

I don't really know the details....but I believe it is turned off for 30 days....however?
 If a Tenant breaks Our Pool Rules Twice?  I feel the card should be suspended for
a year!  Or forever!  I personally hate it that a R/L HomeOwner, who rents out his
Home? Actually gains financially by us keeping our very old, crumbling, always vandalized,
VERY EXPENSIVE POOL!

Now .......Why do I feel that HOA/Board Members resemble Royalty?



Think about it?  We Board Members sit at the top of the Room?  Something akin to
 a Throne?  The Board President dictates the pace of the Meeting, doing this and
 that?  Then finally, he will state:  Does anyone have something they wish to say?
 But Please!

Yes......if you have a problem or concern?  No matter how bad it may be?  Sorry!

YOU ONLY GET TWO MINUTES!!!!


I am sorry!  But I feel this is just SO WRONG!!!

Also?  Since becoming a Board Member?  I have tried numerous times to to get input
via e-mails between ALL Board Members on matters concerning Our Community?  NOT 
A SINGLE RESPONSE!  It seems our 'Royal Board of Directors' are not interested in
discussing matters except during our once a month HOA Meeting!  Gee Sam?  Don't 
you get it?  These Board Members VOLUNTEERED to only spend one hour a month!  They
can't be bothered communicating during the month on matters concerning Our Community,
no matter  how important or pressing those matters may be?


HOW VERY SAD IS THAT ???



We currently got our Pool Surveillance Cameras fixed as to where about 8 people 
can now monitor Our Pool on their Home Computer!  Our Board has not discussed just
how to implement this New Feature?  Should we establish a "POOL COMMITTEE"?  Should
we post new - large signs at Pool announcing this "New Fearure" - should we only
 monitor those cameras during the hours Pool is closed?  There is myriad of issues
that we need to discuss concerning this! And we certainly need to get input from
 the R/L Home Owners AS WELL!



Also?  We Board Members agreed that Scott Hedlind is to set up a Face Book Page!
  But I am leary of just how well Scott will implement this great New Feature!  
I know this?  Dear R/L Home Owners?  Please........do not use your Personal FB Page
to link to the Riverlanding Henderson FaceBook Page !  I strongly suggest you open
a Face Book Account named:  your street address, for example, I created one named:
  Eightoneone Schoonerdr ....and you can even open a Yahoo Mail Acct named: eightoneoneschoonerdr@yahoo.com

I look forward to our FaceBook page whereby every R/L HomeOwner can post their own
Comments and our Board of Directors can send out notices and news about Our Community

And Finally?  During my morning walks, I noticed a Home on Anchor Dr just recently
did a XERISCAPE CONVERSION!  It is BEAUTIFUL!  One day.....I saw a Weed Patch?  
The very next day?  VOILA!  A very Beautiful Conversion!  Congratulations to that
HomeOwner!  But?  I notice your Neighbor's Lawn sprinkler is wetting a large section
of your new gravel?  You will want to ask him to turn his sprinklers down.  Blow
 sand accumulates in your new gravel?  And with watering from your neighbors lawn?
 You will soon see weeds growing out of your gravel! ....groan.... :(


My own neighbor has grass and I also suffer the same problem!  In fact.....for a
 while?  His lawn mower turned one sprinkler so that water sprayed against my home!
 Actually removing Paint & STUCCO from my home! As I did not notice it doing that
for weeks.......sigh.



R/L ?  Please?  Take care to make sure your lawn sprinklers ARE NOT spoiling your
neighbors Xeriscape?  Also?  I wish our whole Community would convert to Xeriscape!
 I hate seeing water running down the street!  I have lived here 50 years and have
never seen the Lake so low!  It is only a matter of time until CLARK COUNTY will
 have to RATION WATER!!!!

VOILA!&nbsp; A very Beautiful Conversion!&nbsp; Congratulations to that Hom=

 a large section of your new gravel?&nbsp; You will want to ask him to turn=
 his sprinklers down.&nbsp; Blow sand accumulates in your new gravel?&nbsp;=
 And with watering from your neighbors lawn?&nbsp; You will soon see weeds =
